HOUSINGCORP

The House Corporation has spent many long hours over hte past 24 months working with ODU to incorporate and develop a Greek Row in the University Village. A Greek Row is in the ODU Master Plan and construction was scheduled to start this past summer, but has been delayed until the completion of the Farm Fresh that is going to be built in the Unverisity Village. Pike Alumni Ron Ripley, Tony Zontini, and Ty West donated many man-hours to developing a plan for the House Corporation and have worked closely with University officials during this extended planning process.

Currently, ODU has recently broken ground on a set of new dorms called "The Quad" just behind Webb Center. Consisting of two buildings, ODU officials have contacted the Greek community about filling one of the buildings with only Greek students. Initial responses have been positive and a representative from the House Corporation and ODU are scheduled to discuss this possibility with the Chapter to gauge the interest level of its new members. The Quad is scheduled to open for the spring semester of 2007. ODU has made it clear that this is a SHORT-TERM solution to Greek Housing and WILL NOT replace the need for a Greek Row in the University Village.
